Brows and lips

Permanent makeup that reads as yours

Pigment worked into the upper layers of the skin to give brows and lips their shape back. Done well, nobody can tell you have had anything done. They just think you look well.

The approach

Mapped before anything is permanent

Every appointment starts with measuring and drawing. The shape is built around your bone structure, your natural growth pattern and the way your face actually moves, then adjusted with you in the mirror until you are happy with it.

Nothing starts until that point. It is the longest part of the appointment and the part that decides whether the result works, so it does not get rushed.

Colour is matched to your skin tone and undertone rather than picked off a chart, because pigment behaves differently in different skin and what looks right in the bottle rarely looks right healed.

Brows

Three techniques, one decision

Which one suits you comes down to your skin rather than your preference, and that is decided at consultation. Oily skin blurs fine strokes over time, so microblading on the wrong skin type is a disappointment waiting to happen.

All three heal to something soft. The difference is in the texture up close and in how they age.

Ombre and powder

Soft shading, light at the front and defined through the tail. The most versatile of the three and the most forgiving as it fades.

  • Suits nearly all skin types, including oily
  • No visible strokes, a powdered finish
  • Ages evenly rather than patchily

Combination

Hair strokes through the front with shading behind them. Texture where the brow looks sparse, density where it needs weight.

  • Best on normal to slightly dry skin
  • Most natural of the shaded options
  • Strokes soften first as it fades

Microblading

Individual strokes cut to mimic real brow hair, sometimes called hairstroke brows. The most natural finish of the three and the most demanding of your skin.

  • Normal to dry skin only
  • Closest to a real brow up close
  • Needs refreshing sooner than shading

Lips

Lip blush

Colour and definition worked into the lip itself. It corrects an uneven border, brings back tone that has faded with age, and makes the shape read without anything on top of it.

It is not lipstick and it is not a filler. It will not change the size of your lips. What it does is restore the edge and the colour, which is usually what people actually mean when they say their lips have disappeared.

Pigment is matched to your natural lip tone. On deeper skin tones that means accounting for existing pigmentation, which changes how the colour heals and is worth a longer conversation at consultation.

Healing

It will look bolder before it looks right

This is the part nobody warns you about, so here it is up front. On the day, the colour is stronger and the shape looks sharper than the final result. That is normal and it is temporary.

Almost everyone has a wobble somewhere around week two, when it looks as though nothing has taken at all. It has. The pigment is still settling under new skin.

A lip blush treatment shown at three stages: before, fresh on the day, and fully healed
  1. Days 1 to 3 Bolder than expected Colour looks dark and edges look sharp. Some swelling on lips.
  2. Days 4 to 7 Flaking The surface lifts and flakes away. Do not pick it.
  3. Weeks 2 to 3 The disappearing act Looks far too light and patchy. This is the stage that worries people.
  4. Weeks 4 to 6 True colour Tone comes back up and settles. This is the result.
  5. Weeks 6 to 12 Top-up A second session to refine shape and colour. Most people need one.

Timings are typical rather than guaranteed. Healing varies with skin type, age, lifestyle and how closely aftercare is followed. Permanent makeup generally lasts 12 to 24 months before a colour boost, and individual results vary.
